Obtain authorisation

Before starting your business, ensure that it does not require authorisation. Certain professions require you to prove that you have the necessary skills. This includes basic management knowledge and job-specific expertise. If you're unable to demonstrate these skills, you can take a exam with the Central Jury. In addition, professions such as butcher require a license.

These procedures are very important and may be subject to inspection at any time. To prepare yourself as well as possible, make sure you take the necessary procedures, comply with your legal obligations, and have the day-to-day documents to prove it.

If you don't have an authorisation, an approval, a licence or basic management and professional skills, you could be liable to a criminal fine and/or an administrative fine of between €80 and €24,000, depending on your situation and the matter in question. So make sure your procedures are in order. You will find all the information you need on this site.
