Local Action Groups (LAG) consist of at least 3 (semi-rural) municipalities that join forces to boost the economic and social vitality of the countryside. In December 2022, the Walloon Government selected 21 LAG.

They were selected as part of the European LAG LEADER project and the Walloon Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) strategy. These LAG act as facilitators for implementing projects focused on the rural economy, mobility and even energy. They aim to promote employment and social inclusion, enhance the attractiveness of rural areas, protect the environment, improve the quality of life for residents and create soft mobility projects, among other objectives.

Seventeen LAG have been renewed and four new LAG have been created: Fagne Haute-Amblève (Liège Province), Viroin-Hermeton (Namur Province), Arelerland (Luxembourg Province) and Basse-Meuse (Liège Province).
