As part of its monitoring of The Pod's activities, the Service public de Wallonie (SPW) took part in a meeting with the "Place of Digital" project team on Tuesday 8 April.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the progress of the project in four major strategic areas:

  1. Mapping and technology watch: refining our understanding of the digital ecosystem and responding to the specific needs of companies in the sector.
  2. Animation and networking: organising themed workshops, promoting networking and energising the Totem community.
  3. Targeted support: offering tailored initiatives to companies to support their development in terms of skills, business and R&D.
  4. Expanding the Digital Wallonia strategy: disseminating advice and information about the digital sector in Walloon Brabant and Wallonia.

With a high concentration of technology companies, Walloon Brabant is a key player in the Belgian digital industry.

Founded in 2022, The Pod aims to become a centre of excellence for tomorrow's technologies and to stimulate innovation through an ecosystem of committed players.

As part of this drive, The Pod invited us to visit InMersiv Technologies, an innovative company specialising in the development of technological and therapeutic tools for medical use. In particular, the company has designed Sam Therapy, an autonomous multisensory system offering immersion in photo-realistic 4D environments.

Sam Therapy takes the form of an immersive capsule with four display surfaces for a 360° panoramic view. It incorporates a sophisticated sound system and directional ventilation to maximise the sensory experience. It is designed for people in institutions suffering from anxiety, depression, major neurocognitive disorders or autism spectrum disorders.

A quick-to-deploy solution: measuring 3.60 m by 3.60 m and 2.50 m high, the Sam Therapy structure can be installed in just a few days, subject to stock availability.

Guided by Maxime Jacobs, co-founder of InMersiv Technologies with Diana Borcescu, we were able to discover a fast-growing company.

Founded in 2021, the start-up aims to be profitable this year and to conquer new markets, particularly in Switzerland.

This visit is part of our strategy to support and accompany innovative players in Wallonia's digital ecosystem. By taking an active part in The Pod's support committee and being on the ground alongside the companies, we are reaffirming our commitment to fostering the development of tomorrow's technologies.

This collaboration is essential if Wallonia is to become a centre of digital excellence!
