Small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and large companies (LC)

Benefits

If your project meets all the requirements, you may be eligible for investment aid ranging from 4% to 40% of the amount invested. The aid rate granted depends on the type of investment, the objectives pursued, and the location of the project.

Under certain conditions, you may also benefit from an exemption from property tax.

Procedure

Below are the steps required to ensure that your application is valid:

  1. You must submit an application form requesting authorisation to start an investment programme via "Mon Espace". Once your application has been validated, you will receive an acknowledgement of receipt by email, including a reference number.

    The date on which the application is submitted to the Administration is important. It determines the date from which work related to the investment programme may begin.

  2. Before completing the aid application form, you must first apply for a "Companu Passport".
    Your "Company Passport" application must be completed through an online form available on "Mon Espace". Once your application has been validated, you will receive an acknowledgement of receipt by email containing a reference number.

  3. You must have an AMUREBA audit or a feasibility study carried out in accordance with the AMUREBA methodology by a certified auditor following the procedures applicable to AMUREBA audits. AMUREBA audits may, where applicable, qualify for energy vouchers.

  4. You must complete the investment aid application form no later than six months after receiving authorisation to start the investment programme. You must indicate the reference number or the decision relating to your "Company Passport". You must also attach the AMUREBA audit.

  1. Your application will be assessed by the Administration. Once the assessment has been completed, you will receive the decision by post.

  2. You may then submit a request for payment of the grant using the documents enclosed with the decision.

The investment programme must begin within six months of the authorisation to start the programme and must be completed within four years of that date.

To assist you with your administrative procedures, you may contact the Administration's departments directly.

All aid applications may be completed in either French or German.

Délais

Every effort is made to process applications within a reasonable timeframe. This timeframe may vary depending on the complexity of the application, any requests for additional information, any required opinions or assessments, and the budget available under the aid scheme.

There is no mandatory deadline for submitting an investment aid application.

The deadlines provided are guidance deadlines (see procedure), meaning they are intended to enable the administration to process applications efficiently. Failure to comply with these deadlines does not automatically render the application inadmissible or result in the loss of eligibility for the aid.

Nevertheless, applicants are encouraged to respect these deadlines in order to facilitate the assessment of their application and avoid delays in processing.

Conditions

To be eligible for this grant, you must meet all of the following conditions:

  • Have or create an establishment unit (operating site, place of business, branch office, etc.) in Wallonia;
  • Carry out an activity in one of the eligible sectors;
  • Present an eligible investment programme meeting the required thresholds: EUR 20,000 if you are an SME and EUR 25,000 if you are a large enterprise;
  • Submit your application before entering into any binding commitment related to the investment (purchase order, contract, etc.), indicating the amount of aid required for the project;
  • Not be a company in financial difficulty.

For SUE aid (Sustainable Use of Energy)*

  • Carry out an AMUREBA audit or a feasibility study that complies with the AMUREBA methodology and is performed by a certified auditor in accordance with the procedures applicable to AMUREBA audits. AMUREBA audits may, where applicable, qualify for energy vouchers;
  • Undertake to have energy meters in place that allow the measurement of energy production or energy savings generated by the proposed investments no later than the end of the investment programme;
  • Undertake to implement energy accounting enabling an objective assessment of the effects of the proposed investment no later than the end of the investment programme.

* For applications submitted in 2025, this requirement only applies to investments exceeding EUR 25,000 (for investments aimed at energy savings in the production process) or EUR 100,000 (for investments in renewable energy production).
